Card Box Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 10, 2025

Card Box is designed to be a private, personal place to save and enjoy your greeting cards. We believe in transparency and want you to clearly understand how your information is handled. By using Card Box, you accept this privacy policy.

For almost all features, Card Box does not require any private information about you. In most cases, we know nothing personally identifiable about you.

Camera Access

If you enable camera access, Card Box can take photos of your cards.

Calendar Access

If you enable calendar access, Card Box may read events on your device only to help extract meaningful dates related to your cards (ex: birthdays or anniversaries).

We do not store your calendar data on our servers.

We never sell or share this information.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store an anonymous push token so your device can receive alerts.

This token does not include your name, email, or any PII.

Optional Personal Information You Add

If you choose to enter names, occasions, or notes related to your cards, this information is stored securely and used only to provide functionality within the app.

Technical Information

Our server software may store basic, non-identifying technical information such as IP address for error prevention, support, and security.

Analytics

Card Box collects anonymous statistics only — for example, which features are used most — to improve the app’s design, reliability, and performance.

If you voluntarily provide an email address (such as for support), your previously anonymous data may no longer be anonymous, but we use it only to improve your Card Box experience and to provide service.

Advertising

Card Box does not collect anything for advertising.

We do not sell data.

We do not track you across other apps or websites.

How Information Is Used

We use the information we collect solely to operate Card Box and improve our app and customer support.

We never share personal information with outside parties except when necessary to provide Card Box functionality or if legally required (such as in response to a subpoena).

In the future, if Card Box merges with or is acquired by another company, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction — but always under the same privacy protections.

How We Protect Information

We use modern security measures, including HTTPS for all communication, to keep your information secure.

California Privacy Rights (CalOPPA)

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act.

We do not distribute personal information without your consent.

Children’s Privacy

Card Box does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Our app is not designed to attract children under 13.

European Union Customers (GDPR Notice)

By using Card Box, you authorize your information — if you provide it — to be processed outside the EU.

We store as little data as possible and do not store card images on servers.

International Transfers

Information may be processed in countries with privacy laws different from your own.

Future Changes

We may update this privacy policy over time. Continuing to use Card Box means you agree to the latest version.
